Professor CHEN had been our Foundation Chairman and Professor of Psychiatry since 1981. He served as Chairman for the first 17 years after the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and retired in August 1998 from CUHK. Professor CHEN was awarded Emeritus Professor in January 2018. He is a distinguished scholar, psychiatrist, researcher and educator who has not only helped build up our Faculty of Medicine, but also contributed significantly to the mental health development and research both locally and globally. The Department of Psychiatry is grateful for his consent to establish a research and education fund under his name.
This fund will support (i) recruitment of distinguished visiting scholars; (ii) academic research; (iii) departmental activities in promoting mental health, e.g. workshops, conferences and seminars.
