Representatives from Guangzhou Health Promotion Center for Primary and Secondary School Students visited the Department of Psychiatry

We were delighted to host Director Xiuwen Dai and her colleagues Lu Deng and Guo Yi from the Guangzhou Health Promotion Center for Primary and Secondary School Students (廣州中小學衛生健康促進中心). During the visit, Director Dai and her colleagues met with faculty, research staff, and students to foster meaningful exchange regarding adolescent sleep and mental health promotion.

As part of the academic exchange, a series of research presentations were delivered by our faculty academics and PhD students: Dr. Rachel Chan discussed the mental health status of primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong; Dr. Tim Li presented the application of chatbots and AI technology in mental health; and Dr. Sijing Chen, along with Ms. Wei Yong Elaine and Mr. Zhengdong Wu presented their work on preventing depression and improving sleep and mental health through digital insomnia treatment and motivational interviewing.

The visit concluded with active discussions between our researchers and Director Dai’s team, exploring future collaborative opportunities to enhance student wellbeing across regions. We sincerely appreciate Director Dai and her colleagues for their valuable insights and look forward to continued collaboration.
