CUHK Sleep Assessment Unit Shines Globally with 74 Presentations and 19 Awards at WorldSleep 2025


CUHK Sleep Assessment Unit Achieves Global Recognition at WorldSleep2025 & ASSM Conference


The Li Chiu Kong Family Sleep Assessment Unit, Department of Psychiatry, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, proudly represented Hong Kong on the global stage at the WorldSleep2025 and Asian Society of Sleep Medicine (ASSM) 2025 Conference, held from 5–10 September 2025 in Singapore.


The team delivered an exceptional 74 presentations, including:



  • 13 symposia presentations

  • 13 oral presentations

  • 38 poster presentations


Their impactful research and dedication to sleep science were recognized with an impressive 19 awards, including:



  • 12 Young Investigator Awards from ASSM

  • 7 Young Investigator Awards from World Sleep (with 5 out of 18 awarded for oral abstracts)


The prestigious World Sleep Day Distinguished Activity Award 2025, honoring their commitment to promoting sleep health in the community.

This outstanding performance highlights CUHK’s leadership in sleep medicine and its continued efforts to advance public health through research and education.

榮獲世界睡眠學會頒發「2025年傑出活動獎」


世界睡眠日 (World Sleep Day) 由世界睡眠學會(World Sleep Society)於2008年發起,是一項全球睡眠和健康計劃,目的是引起大眾對睡眠重要性的關注。


為響應今年主題「睡眠對健康至關重要」(Sleep is Essential for Health),「賽馬會樂眠無憂計劃」早前一連舉辦四場睡眠問題專家講座,邀請專家解構常見睡眠問題,同時舉辦不同工作坊推廣睡眠健康。


很榮幸地,我們最近獲世界睡眠學會頒發 2025年「傑出活動獎」(Distinguished Activity Award),及獲邀出席將於新加坡舉行的「世界睡眠大會」。對於世界睡眠學會的肯定,和每位服務使用者的關注及支持,我們希望藉此機會致上謝意。


另外,亦再次感謝受邀主講「阻塞性睡眠窒息症」、「不寧腿症候群」、「生理時鐘與睡眠問題」及「快速眼動睡眠行為障礙」等睡眠議題的專家,包括中大醫學院精神科學系副教授陳詠欣醫生、中大醫學院精神科學系客座助理教授劉亞平博士、香港睡眠醫學學會RPSGT委員會首任及現任主席何國華先生,以及精神科專科醫生陳商殷女士。


「賽馬會樂眠無憂計劃」由中大醫學院精神科學系主辦,獲香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐助,聯同五間本地非政府組織,包括基督教家庭服務中心、香港聖公會福利協會有限公司、香港心理衞生會、聖雅各福群會及基督教聯合那打素社康服務共同推出,以實證為本的失眠的認知行為治療,為大眾提供睡眠支援。作為本地少有的大型社區睡眠健康項目,我們將繼續透過更多渠道,普及健康睡眠文化。

The Jockey Club Sleep Well Project

The Jockey Club Sleep Well Project

The Jockey Club Sleep Well Project is sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organized by Department of Psychiatry, CUHK. The project aims to promote sleep health and provide evidence-based non-pharmacological intervention for citizens who suffer from sleep problems. This sleep well project adopts stepped care model to improve sleep quality among citizens.


The project components include:



  • promoting sleep health in the community

  • providing non-pharmacological treatment of insomnia  (will be launched soon)

  • enhancing community support for sleep health.
